Egyptian. Egypt may have been more developed than Iran in the 50s when the Shah married Fawzia. Those days are long gone. These days Iran is definately more developed and more literate.

Yes. But you have the Ahwazi oil to pay for you 2x income. If Ahwaz remained an independent country after 1925 you would not be that wealthy.
If you look at the 20th century overall: Egypt has produced far more literature, music, culture, cinema, etc than Iran.
Anyhow, egypt is going through bad times these days. Perhaps they might democratize soon. We’ll see.
And ahwaz might become free soon. Either as a federal state within a free iran, or even as total independence.
